In their announcement, the Jensens said they expect big things for the park as Palacios is developing a new waterfront pavilion adjacent to the property and is committed to attracting tourism. The coastal towns of both Port Lavaca and Palacios offer families a great escape with beaches, shopping, golfing, dinning and lots of fishing, whether by boat or from shore. Located on the central coast of Texas and with an average drive of just over two hours from Houston, San Antonio, Austin and San Marcos these locations make a great weekend getaway for a wide variety of people.

Industry growth along the Texas Coast has also been a driving economic force impacting many communities. As industrial plants retrofit or expand, contractors from all over the U.S. arrive looking for some form of lodging, according to the Jensens.

Adding additional cabins will provide another source for contractors, many of whom travel with their families.

Originally built in the late ‘80s, the Jensens plan a complete renovation for the park to meet the highest criteria in the Good Sam Club group of RV parks. A few of the improvements include making it a gated RV park, updating the pool area, adding palapas throughout the resort, adding fenced dog runs, a fitness center, upgraded electric service, hammock areas, fire and barbecue pit areas, brand new laundry equipment, high speed Wi-Fi, all concrete roads and sites, and several brand-new, custom-built, fully furnished cabins. The owners said the park also will have new, lower electric rates.

Cabins are one of the fastest growing segments in the RV park sector and provide the opportunity for families and those without RVs the opportunity to experience the campground lifestyle.
