Electoral Board – Nelson County, Virginia Elections

Nelson County, Va., officials made decisions on two park permits.

The Nelson County (Va.) Board of Supervisors approved one special use permit for a campground and denied another during its Feb. 13 meeting, according to the Nelson County Times.

The first permit is for a location in Tyro, on Crabtree Falls Highway, and requested approval on two sites. The property is just under an acre and is owned by John H. Fitzgerald Jr. and Roberta Fitzgerald.

The owners of the property previously used the vacant lot for tent camping and fishing. They want to use the land to bring on two portable, tiny homes for short-term lodging according to the application.

The second campground special use permit request was for the property beside the Rockfish Presbyterian Church which was recommended for denial on Jan. 24 by the county planning commission.

The property is owned by Kelly A. Kahle and is in Nellysford on four acres.
