In an industry often associated with unplugging from technology, Cliff Casavant is proving that the right technology can make camping experience more relaxing, convenient and enjoyable, according to a press release.
As the owner of Rivers Bend Campground in New Haven, Vt., Casavant has spent the last eight years transforming the campground into one of the region’s most guest-focused destinations. Since purchasing the campground in 2019, he has combined his lifelong passion for the outdoors, a simpler pace and a secure environment into a rich experience for guests.

“A proprietary technology platform is the heartbeat of operations, developed to enhance Campground Master capabilities,” stated the release. “The custom interface streamlines guest check-in, visitor registration, on-site food truck orders and overall campground operations.”
“I am always looking for ways to remove friction from the guest experience,” said Casavant. “People come here to relax. The less time they spend standing in line or filling out paperwork, the more time they spend enjoying the retreat-like setting here at Rivers Bend.”
The technology is already delivering results. Guests and their visitors move quickly through registration because the check-in process is now largely automated. The platform’s newest enhancement powers online ordering from the recently opened food truck; guests place orders directly from their campsite and are notified when food pickup is ready.
Casavant, always an innovator, isn’t stopping there. He is taking the technology to the next level, a new “Tap the App” is under development to allow guests to rebook future stays in seconds, stated the release.
While technology is a major focus, Rivers Bend remains rooted in a traditional New England camping experience that guests and visitors love. Guests enjoy fishing, tubing, river and pool swimming. Kids roam freely throughout the park, riding bikes, making friends and visiting the camp store for a sweet treat.
In addition to his focus on technology, Casavant is skilled at meticulously maintaining the all-grass sites, upgrading the electric, and investing in landscaping, resulting in an extraordinary park experience in a peaceful, quiet river setting, stated the release. The campground is also designed to accommodate today’s larger recreational vehicles, offering spacious sites.
“Located at the confluence of the New Haven and Otter Creek rivers, Rivers Bend combines classic Vermont camping with modern conveniences,” noted the release. “For Casavant, the goal is simple: preserve everything people love about camping while using smart technology to enhance the experience.”
“We’re not using technology to replace the camping experience,” he said. “We’re using it to make the camping experience even better.”
As Rivers Bend continues to evolve, one thing remains clear: Cliff Casavant is showing that innovation and outdoor hospitality can work hand in hand to create a better experience for every guest and visitor, stated the release.
