ICYMI: KOA’s CEO O’Rourke On Trends, Challenges

WCM’s Outdoor Hospitality Update spent some time with Kampgrounds of America Inc.’s (KOA) CEO and President on Wednesday (Nov. 17) afternoon to get an update from her on how the KOA system fared in 2021, what trends the company is focused on and on general topics impacting the industry as a whole.

O’Rouke noted during the conversation that KOA is in the midst of a record-breaking year and that all indications point to another unprecedented year in 2022. She highlighted the fact that KOA is also in the planning stages to build more Terramor locations. The first Terramor resort was opened last year and features a glamping vibe with canvas tents and other unique non-RV experiences.

O’Rourke also spoke about the many challenges park owners are facing, including staffing issues, along with other industry updates including developments, legislative news, COVID and more.

The show is hosted by Ben Quiggle, editor of Woodall’s Campground Magazine (WCM), and Mike Gast, former vice president of communications at Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) and a senior writer for RVTravel.com.
