West Canada Creek Campground in Poland, N.Y., is proud to announce it has been named the winner of Best Overall Campground (125 Sites or Less) and Best Water Recreation in the first-ever Best of Camp New York Awards, a camper-voted recognition celebrating top campgrounds across New York State. Hosted by Camp New York and the Campground Owners of New York (CONY), the official association representing independently owned and operated campgrounds across the state, the awards highlight excellence in outdoor hospitality, according to a press release.

Thousands of campers cast votes during the 2025 season, nominating their favorite destinations in a range of categories.
“These awards belong to our campers and our team,” said Imrana Mouna, co-owner of WestCanada Creek Campground. “We’ve worked hard to keep the experience friendly, clean and nature-forward, while celebrating the incredible trout fishery and river fun right out our back door. Being recognized for both Best Overall and Best Water Recreation is a huge honor.”
Why West Canada Creek Campground Stood Out
Set along a stocked stretch of the scenic West Canada Creek at the foothills of the Adirondacks, the family-owned campground blends nature-first camping with thoughtful comforts — from well-kept RV and tent sites to community events, tubing and fishing access, and a beloved on-site ice-cream caboose.
Generations of campers return each year for the welcoming staff, river views and memory-making weekends.
