Winter storm warnings have prompted some temporary closures at Montana’s Glacier National Park, according to KPAX.

Park officials say that the east side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed at Jackson Glacier Overlook. The Many Glacier campground closed at 12 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 26) and the Two Medicine Campground will close Friday morning.

While St. Mary Campground remains open, park officials are advising against camping there.

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon for the West Glacier Region.

Heavy snow is possible with total snow accumulations of 16-inches to 25-inches possible. Gusty winds to 40 mph will cause low visibility.
