With high fire dangers across much of Wisconsin, a Caledonia campsite is keeping fire safety protocol a top priority, according to WISN
Shelia Yates and her family are among those staying at the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Caledonia.
“The camp offers a ton of activities to keep them busy,” she said Wednesday (June 16).
When they are done with those fun activities, they plan to use their firepit.
Despite drought and dry conditions, the campground has precautions in place to help stop fires.
“All of our campfire pits are within feet with water spigots,” Manager and Owner Bridget Bender said. “We actually have a safety manager right on sight and we have a watering truck.”
In addition to those measures, she said all of the firepits are enclosed and campers are given safety rules upon check-in.
