Marshall Village Board’s Planning Commission was impressed with the progress of The Whistle Stop Campground in Waterloo, Wisc., which is slated to open for the summer of 2018, according to The Courier.

“It, I feel, will be one of the best campgrounds in the state of Wisconsin,” board president Marlin Hensler, Jr. said at the village planning meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

While the campground has two road signs previewing its opening for 2018 with a new logo and name, the board approved having a permanent sign installed that can be seen by driving coming into Marshall on State Highway 73.

The site plan was also shown to the commission members during the meeting.

“He (Bud Styer) took our advice and followed what we wanted,” Hensler said.
