[post_thumbnail]Plans are underway to develop a luxury RV resort in Quartzsite Ariz., with a handful of campsites available as early as next spring, according to a press release.
“We expect to have tractors on the property as early as October,” said park developer James Kunisch, adding that some campsites could be available with basic amenities by spring.
The resort, called The Arroyos Preserve Luxury RV Park Campground, will be built in phases as a destination resort on a 50-acre site, 6 miles south of Quartzsite. It could have as many as 310 sites, each of which will have scenic views of the desert’s flora and fauna, including the palo verde and mesquite trees that grow naturally in the area.
“The resort will eventually have 125 pull-through sites, 108 back-in sites and, eventually, 28 furnished cabins, 22 glamping units and seven tenting areas,” Kunisch said.
The resort will cater to off-road vehicle enthusiasts, particularly visitors who want to tour the Arizona Peace Trail, a 650-mile loop of off-roading trails and roads throughout western Arizona’s Sonoran Desert.
ATV-friendly amenities will include a place to refuel, wash ramps, and a large meeting area for use as a trailhead. Additional amenities will include a swimming pool, pickleball courts, electric bicycles and an archery pavilion. The park will also have ample laundry facilities with 16 washer/dryer units and as many as four separate deluxe bathroom/shower facilities in key locations.
Plans are also in the works to eventually equip the park with a driverless shuttle to take guests to and from the various amenities within the park on a 24/7 basis. The shuttle will be set up so that guests can use a smartphone app to call the shuttle and be driven to wherever they want to go inside the park.
Kunisch said a new RV resort is urgently needed in the Quartzsite area.
“Not only are the RV parks in town at capacity, but tens of thousands of RVs boondock without utilities every winter and spring on some 15,000 acres of neighboring Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land,” Kunisch said.
The Arroyos Preserve was named in recognition of the many tree-lined arroyos that crisscross the park, and because of the desire of park developers to protect and maintain the natural desert garden environment. With environmental protection in mind, The Arroyos Preserve will also have its own wastewater treatment plant on site with a treatment capacity of 42,000 gallons per day.
The Arroyos Preserve Luxury RV Park Campground is being developed by Glendale, Ariz.-based Landway Development Corp.
