Sunday (Aug. 20) marked the first anniversary of a devastating flash flood that tore through downtown Moab, Utah. The flood damaged buildings, forced evacuations and left one business on the verge of ruin, according to KJZZ.
In September 2022, managers of Up the Creek Campground told 2News they weren’t sure if the campground would ever reopen.
Nearly a year later, the campground is open again. The old managers decided to move on from the business and it’s now being overseen by David Wilson and Kirstin Peterson.
“We just kind of did it,” said Wilson. “We’ve camped tons in our lives and thought we should make it someplace that is like what we have seen in other places that will work and still be affordable for people.”
