Rocky Mountain National Park’s Timber Creek Campground will remain open through the first weekend in October this year, according to reporting from The Coloradoan.
The campground, located on the west side of the park, had originally been scheduled for closure Aug. 10, 2026, so work could begin on a sewer rehabilitation project. Following an updated review of project timelines, officials determined construction will not begin this season, allowing the popular campground to remain open through the full summer 2026 camping season.
Reservations are available through Oct. 4 through recreation.gov, according to the news release from spokesperson Kyle Patterson. Timber Creek Campground will close for the season at noon Oct. 5.
