NCA's Great Escape toured 10 parks in 2024.

The Campground Owners of New York (CONY) and the Northeast Campground Association (NCA) are merging their annual fall conferences into a larger event that takes places Sept. 28-30 in Lake George, N.Y.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity for our campground operators from Maine to Maryland to be able to enjoy the Lake George region along with having the opportunity to attend the quality conference that CONY puts together during that same time period,” said Cyndy Zbierski, NCA’s executive director, noting that it was CONY that came up with the idea.

NCA typically rotates the state where its annual Great Escape takes place and it was New York’s turn to host the event this year. So, it made sense to combine both events.

CONY’s annual fall conference will take place Sept. 28 and will include the association’s annual business meeting, educational sessions, networking opportunities and discussions focused on trends and planning for the 2027 season. The conference will also feature the presentation of the 2026 Best of Camp New York Awards, recognizing excellence within New York’s campground industry.

NCA’s Great Escape, for its part, will convene Sept. 29 and 30 and will include tours of at least seven campgrounds and RV resorts in the Lake George area.

Parks to host campground tours include Lake George Escape; Lake George RV Park; King Phillips Campground: Lake George Riverview; Lake George Schroon Valley Campground; Moose Hillock Camping Resorts; and Granite Hill Lodge and Campground.

The tours are designed to spark new ideas, generate discussions and help park operators strengthen their operations. As part of the event experience, CONY and NCA are planning gatherings and networking events at area businesses throughout the Lake George region, helping showcase the area’s vibrant tourism and hospitality community to visiting attendees.

The associations have secured a room block at Fort William Henry Hotel. However, the deadline for reservations is Aug. 13. RV sites and rooms are also available at Lake George Escape while inventory lasts.
