The state of West Virginia has decided not to move forward with plans to consider Blue Water Development’s contested 350-site RV park proposed for Cacapon State Park in Berkeley Springs, W. Va., according to Morgan County USA.
The cancellation comes on the heels of widespread opposition to the proposal.
“I talked to (West Virginia Commerce Secretary) James Bailey a little while ago today, who told me that the W. Va. Department of Commerce, W. Va. DNR (West Virginia Division of Natural Resources) and W. Va. Parks have decided not to proceed forward with any of the proposals for RVs at Cacapon that were submitted in response to the RFP that the State put out some months ago,” wrote Senator Charles Trump (R-Morgan) in an email on Friday (April 21).
The Commerce Department put out a press release calling for input from the public on how to move forward.
