River Delta Marina & Campground

Mobile Co. Commission accepts $2M for River Delta Marina & Campground improvements (MOBILE COUNTY COMMISSION)

The Mobile County Commission approved an agreement with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at its regular meeting on Jan. 26, to accept a $2 million State GOMESA grant for improvements at the River Delta Marina & Campground. No local match is required, according to myNBC15.com.

The funding will support engineering, design and construction for enhancements that improve access, safety, and visitor experience at the marina and campground, which provides public access to the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, one of the most ecologically diverse river systems in the country.

Planned improvements include upgrades to the existing boardwalk, removal of derelict vessels from surrounding waters, roadway improvements, new signage, new fencing in select campground areas and targeted landscaping.
