David ‘Lance’ Pitre is running for election to the board of directors seat in Area 5. Area 5 encompasses Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas
David ‘Lance’ Pitre (pronounced “Pete”) has served in the hospitality industry as an owner and operator for over 21 years. As a first-generation campground owner, he has the experience and leadership of a founder to get things moving and “off the ground.”
Lance has been a member of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds’ (ARVC) 20 Group 2 since 2011 with Lakeview Park and Beach. Further, Lance serves his community as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in St. Landry Parish, La. He has been recently awarded the “ADA of the Year 2019” by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and his business received the “2016 LOUEY Award for Best Campground of the Year” by the Louisiana Travel Association.
There are many skills Lance has acquired during the “I can’t afford not to do it myself” years of private practice and working in the hospitality business. Preferring not to name these skills, Lance would rather assert that “ these are the skills I choose not to learn any more than I already know about: Auto mechanics, HVAC, Welding, and changing diapers on little ones.” Lance is told often by associates and employees that he brings calm to any situation. He has tireless energy and maintains a positive attitude in all things he chooses to tackle.
He is a Christian, husband to an amazing wife and father of six superb children who strives to improve upon his yesterdays with every today. In his free time, Lance likes to hike, enjoys travel, and plans time for retreat. Recently in the Summer of 2019, these pursuits converged as Lance made a 500-mile pilgrimage across Spain along the Camino de Santiago, or Way of St. James, to Compostela.
