The deadline to register for the Texas Association of Campground Owners’ (TACO) upcoming Certified Pool Operators course is May 5. TACO is hosting a two-day webinar, May 12-13, to provide training for Certified Pool Operators (CPOs), according to a press release.
The Certified Pool Operator (CPO) class will be taught by Terry Munoz, a longtime friend of TACO and a board member who has been teaching Certified Pool Operator training for 25 years. The CPO certification is valid for five years.
Online class times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 12 and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 13, with a three-hour online exam immediately after.
The CPO Certification course will teach attendees how to:
- Operate a pool more easily and efficiently, saving time and money.
- Reduce chemical, electrical, biological, and physical hazards.
- Protect swimming pool users and employees.
- Comply with key safety regulations, reducing liability and risk of closure.
The cost of the two-day CPO training course, worth 16 CEUs, is $390. Interested parties can sign up here to take the course.
TACO has also invited the National Weather Service to provide a free training session on hazardous weather awareness and preparation at 9 a.m. June 10.
The hour-long session, provided by personnel from the National Weather Service (NWS) office that covers Austin and San Antonio, will discuss how to stay informed on various weather hazards, review essential hazard preparedness and warning procedures, and highlight NWS resources and readiness programs that can assist camp owners with hazardous weather awareness and preparedness.
