Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) is proud to announce that the Goodland KOA Journey is celebrating a remarkable milestone in 2026: 60 years of welcoming campers, road trippers and families traveling across the country, according to a press release.
Since opening in 1966, the campground has served as a trusted stop along Interstate 70, evolving alongside generations of travelers while remaining committed to the same welcoming hospitality that first established it as one of the original Kampgrounds of America locations.
Originally developed as part of KOA’s early vision to create a network of high-quality campgrounds across North America, Goodland KOA Journey opened with an iconic A-frame building featuring a camp store, recreation space, showers and even living quarters for the campground owners. Throughout the decades, the campground has continued to grow through improvements while preserving the welcoming atmosphere that has made it a favorite destination for travelers crossing the High Plains.
