Independence Bank of Havre, Mont., presented the Care Camps Foundation with a donation check for $4,738.60 at the annual Fore the Kids golf tournament hosted by Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) in Billings, Mont., on Sept. 12, according to a press release.
Independence Bank donates funds to the Care Camps Foundation through its Spirit Debit Card Program. Each time, cardholders with the debit card complete a transaction, up to five cents is donated to the Care Camps Foundation.
In addition to participating in KOA’s charity golf tournament, the Montana-based banking team also sponsors and participates in the annual KOA Convention fundraising events benefiting the Care Camps Foundation.
“Independence Bank is proud to work alongside the Care Camps Foundation to give back to a wonderful organization and help them complete their mission with our Care Camps Foundation card,” stated Max Vogel, KOA Loan Officer.
“We are incredibly grateful for the longstanding support from Independence Bank,” said Gwynn Sullivan, executive director of the Care Camps Foundation. “Since 2013, they have provided the Care Camps Foundation with charitable donations annually and we are so honored to also be included in their Spirit Debit Card Program.”
Each year, the Care Camps Foundation funds over 120 pediatric oncology camps, making it possible for more than 40,000 children, siblings and parents to attend camp. This creates opportunities for families to heal, connect and find joy together despite the challenges of cancer.
The Care Camps Foundation is the only national non-profit dedicated solely to funding camps for children with cancer in the U.S. and Canada.
