The Iowa Department of Natural Resources on Tuesday (Oct. 10) unveiled designs for a new campground and shelter at Red Haw State Park, according to KCCI.
There have been ongoing cleanup efforts at the park after a deadly tornado tore through Lucas County on March 5, 2022.
The Iowa DNR held an open house at Chariton City Hall to roll out plans to start rebuilding the park.
At the open house, the public gave their feedback on designs for a new dock, camping grounds and buildings that were destroyed. The project is currently estimated to cost around $400,000.
