The Upper Peninsula’s (Michigan) popular lakefront campground has reopened after $2.5 million in renovations and more than a year of construction closures, according to MLive.com.
Twin Lakes State Park, located about 26 miles from the city of Houghton, is a fan-favorite for fishing, boating and off-roading.
The modern campground puts campers on the west shore of Lake Roland.
This summer, the modern campground and tiny cabins reopened after extensive upgrades to buildings and utilities.
The most noticeable change for campers will be the brand new bathroom building in the campground. This new build replaces a 1970s building.
Additionally, wastewater and sanitation station upgrades were made.
Other building upgrades were the day-use beach area buildings, which have both an open-air and enclosed pavilion that include picnic tables, charcoal grills and electrical services.
