A multi-million dollar RV park with room for nearly 1,000 units could soon break ground in West Central Texas — designed to house workers tied to a $25-billion data center nearby, according to Chron.
The development, located at 1202 Elmdale Drive in Abilene, is anticipated to break ground this month, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR). While details submitted to the TDLR are subject to change, construction could last through August, with an estimated cost of $15 million.
Known as the Cottages at the Frontier, the project encompasses more than 4.7 million square feet, creating 945 RV spaces across a 109-acre RV park, according to the filing. Additional features include asphalt roads, concrete drives and walks.
A presentation on the proposed site plan shared with the Abilene City Council in January notes other amenities, including workout facilities, a dog park, pickleball court, sand volleyball court, barbecue pavilions and ample green space. The ground lease for the site totals a maximum of 20 years.
