Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) congratulates Shawn and Christine Kim for delivering a significant improvement in guest satisfaction in their first year as owners of the Thousand Islands/Ivy Lea KOA Holiday (Ontario), according to a press release.
Bringing a shared love of the outdoors and a clear vision for the future, the Kim family has focused on enhancing the guest experience while positioning the campground for growth. That focus has driven a dramatic increase in the campground’s Net Promoter Score (NPS), a standard measure of guest satisfaction and loyalty. The campground’s score rose from 29.9 under previous ownership to 70, a level recognized as a benchmark for excellence, noted the release.
Situated along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, the campground offers easy access to boating, fishing, hiking and the beloved Thousand Islands National Park. With its blend of natural beauty and small-town charm, the location serves as a destination where families and friends can unplug, reconnect and create lifelong memories.
“From the moment we arrived, we felt the potential of this place,” said Shawn Kim, owner of the Thousand Islands/Ivy Lea KOA Holiday. “We’re excited to create a space that feels welcoming for all ages and camping styles, from traditional tent campers to cabin guests. We’ve been truly grateful for the local support and are excited to grow alongside this community.”
The Thousand Islands/Ivy Lea KOA Holiday features a variety of guest-favorite amenities, including a large swimming pool and a smaller kids’ pool, hot tub, scenic nature trails and a KampK9 with dog wash for four-legged campers. Guests will also enjoy a well-stocked camp store, themed weekend events, and activities designed to bring people together.
Plans for the near future include expanded cabin offerings, live music events, seasonal festivals, new pickleball and basketball courts, and continued campground upgrades focused on technology and environmentally friendly systems. The campground offers a range of lodging options, from Deluxe Cabins to traditional tent sites, as well as RV sites with full hookups.
Located at 85 Edgewater Lane in Lansdowne, Ontario, the Thousand Islands/Ivy Lea KOA Holiday is open May 1 to Oct. 12.
