Registration is now open for the upcoming Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification Training, taking place April 7 (9 a.m.-5 p.m. CST) & 8 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Led by Terry Munoz, CPO, OHC, a former OHI Board Member, current OHI Foundation Board Member and Certified Pool Instructors professional, the training provides essential instruction on proper pool operations, water safety, and regulatory compliance. As pools and aquatic amenities prepare to reopen for the season, the course offers timely guidance to ensure facilities meet local and state requirements.

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification is widely recognized by local and state authorities as a leading credential in aquatic facility management. Each year, more than 30,000 professionals complete the program to strengthen their operational knowledge and promote safe, well-managed facilities.
“Proper pool operation and water safety are essential for every outdoor hospitality business offering aquatic amenities,” said Terry Munoz, CPO, OHC. “This training equips operators and their staff with an understanding of the critical components of compliance and safety before welcoming guests back for the season.”
The course is 100% online and offered at a flat fee of $390 for active OHI members. While the majority of states accept virtual CPO training, participants are encouraged to confirm any additional requirements with their local health departments. OHI members are encouraged to register early, as this certification training requires shipment of course material and is offered only once before pool season begins.
