Morongo Basin locals strategized Tuesday (Oct. 31) on how to stop a hotel made of seven geodesic domes proposed near the Integratron in Landers, Calif., according to the Hi-Desert Star.
The proposed hotel would include six 24-foot domes used as hotel rooms for up to six people each. A seventh 36-foot dome would offer communal space for yoga, games and cooking. There would also be a pool, utility building and septic tank.
The 2.5-acre property is about a quarter-mile east of Belfield Boulevard and Linn Road. The land is in the county’s rural living zone.
Adriana and Calvin Clark of Newhall own the land and applied for the permits. San Bernardino County’s Land Use Services staff are recommending that the developers should not have to go through the full California environmental review process.
