For the 17th straight year, the Sunbury (Pa.) Airport Campground is giving back to the community by donating much-needed funds to the Northumberland County Area Agency on Aging Veterans Program, according to The Daily Item.
On Monday (Sept. 1), Peggy Reichenbach, of the Sunbury Airport Campground, presented a check to Northumberland County Commissioners Sam Schiccatano, Joe Klebon and Meghan Beck for $7,257, bringing the total for the past three years to $20,045, according to Reichenbach.
Ryan Miller, the administrator of the county’s Area Agency on Aging and Veterans Affairs, said the money helps to maintain emergency funds for vets in need.
The money, which was raised through fundraising efforts at the campground, is going to the Veterans Affairs Emergency funds, which help veterans struggling to pay bills, according to Miller.
