The Care Camps Foundation, the only national nonprofit that solely funds pediatric oncology camps across the United States and Canada, is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) to Compete for Kids! again this September, according to an email recently sent out by PCOA.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month; in honor, PCOA and Care Camps Foundation are cooking up a little friendly competition – Compete for Kids! Participating campgrounds across Pennsylvania will compete with one another in raising funds to send children with cancer to camp.
“Pennsylvania campgrounds are invited to engage their guests in simple fundraising activities throughout the month,” notes a website highlighting the event. “Every dollar raised helps make possible safe and accessible camp experiences for children with cancer across the United States and Canada, all at no cost to families.”
Participating campgrounds will receive campaign badges (bronze to platinum) to showcase in all marketing.
Top Fundraiser Awards will be recognized at the annual PCOA conference and will be featured in PCOA emails and Care Camps Foundation channels.
Last year’s top fundraisers included:
- 1st Place: Driftstone Campground
- 2nd Place: Mountain Vista Campground
- 3rd Place: Starlite Camping Resort
