A recent purchase of campgrounds in Big Sur by New York-based EOS Investors LLC is stirring community discussion as the new owners propose modernizing infrastructure and reducing traffic, according to KSBW.
The campground’s land use consultant explained that the project was initiated due to the need for a new septic system and a redesign of the site layout.
The consultant emphasized that this is not a “glamping project,” and stationary trailers would facilitate the installation of the new septic system, a crucial component of the plan.
Currently, there are 130 RV sites, which would decrease to 107 under the new plan, all rentals.
Additionally, there would be 61 tent-only sites, with 13 designated as affordable.
