The summer construction season is winding down at (Michigan) state parks, but summer storms have added an unexpected delay for one Up North campground, according to MLive.com.
Otsego Lake State Park, near Gaylord, planned to reopen its final phase of campground updates this week but was delayed by a suspected lightning strike, park supervisor Jeff Clarke said.
Construction crews suspect lightning struck around the north campground where 44 new full-hookup campsites were recently installed.
There was minor impact to electrical breakers, but the well system was damaged and will need additional time to repair, Clarke said.
