A campground retreat that would allow glamping is proposed on a 115-acre property where the Buffalo Recreation Center and wedding venue operate near U.S. 60 West in Amherst County (Va.), according to the New-Era Progress.
The Amherst County Planning Commission voted unanimously on March 19 to recommend approval of a special exception permit to allow the campground in an agricultural residential, A-1, district. The glamping retreat would include a shared bathhouse, pavilion, office structure, 15 canvas tents, common recreational areas including a fire pit and gathering area, a common parking area and utilities.
The property is located at 480 Emmanuel Church Road. The campground would be limited to no more than 15 campsite structures and any expansion beyond that shall require further review and approval by county officials.
