There was a packed house on Tuesday as the Bristol (Va.), Virginia City Council debated whether to allow an RV park on Stage Coach Road. Residents attended the meeting to speak against the rezoning, according to WCYB.
Property owners want to open 10 RV camping spots on the property off Exit 7. However, to make the road suitable for RVs, it would require maintenance. A project, city officials say, would cost more than $200,000.
“Please do not use two years of property taxes to widen our road for a project that our neighborhood does not wish to see,” said a Hassen Heights resident.
The proposal was voted down unanimously.
Mayor Becky Nave says she’d like to see an RV camp in Bristol, Va., but does not think near homes is the right location.
