Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) is proud to announce the new Riverside section at the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Holiday. The expansion brings 59 modern RV sites near the Ausable River, strengthening the campground’s position as one of the Northeast’s most beautiful and adventure-friendly camping destinations, according to a press release.

The new Riverside section, located just a quarter-mile from the longstanding Mountainside section, features 50/30-amp full hookup RV sites with a mix of back-in and pull-thru options. A dozen of these sites also include KOA Patios, offering an upgraded outdoor experience for campers. With a focus on pet-friendly travel, new additions include a KampK9 dog park.

“We’re proud to grow alongside this incredible community,” said Jill Currier, senior vice president of OAK operations at KOA. “With the new Riverside section, we’re not only enhancing the camping experience but also boosting local tourism and helping more visitors connect with the beauty and adventure of the Ausable River and Whiteface area.”

The Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Holiday’s expansion reflects KOA’s broader efforts to meet growing demand for outdoor travel while supporting the community. As part of that commitment, KOA recently sponsored the Ausable River Two-Fly Challenge, an annual three-day celebration of fly fishing, conservation and community, where anglers compete while enjoying music, food and festivities along the Ausable River.

The Riverside section of the Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Holiday is located at 5636 NY-86, while the original Mountainside section is located at 5591 NY-86, both in Wilmington, N.Y.

The campground is open May-October, with an on-site motel that is open year-round.

For more information or to make a reservation, please visit the campground’s website or call 518-946-7878. Reservations are also available by going online or using the KOA App.
