It’s hard to get someone on the phone at a campground during this busy time of year, but several spots are still open at campgrounds in Two Harbors, Minn., and they’re busy prepping for last minute campers by cutting the grass, painting picnic tables, cutting wood and more, television station KQDS reported.

Owners say they aren’t surprised they didn’t get slammed.

“A lot of people go north and they go into the cabins. They go fishing to the inland lakes. So, we’re not super busy,” said Pennie Burton, owner of Penmarallter Campground.

But, that doesn’t mean the rest of the summer will be available.

“Our weekends are filling up fast. Weekdays are not too bad right now but weekends are filling up fast,” said Burton.

There are two other campgrounds in Two Harbors.
