The Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) is inviting campground, RV park and outdoor hospitality professionals across Texas to take their businesses to the next level by becoming members and connecting with a statewide organization dedicated to strengthening and promoting campgrounds, according to a press release.

“Texas is experiencing very strong interest in camping, RV travel and outdoor recreation. Campground owners and operators face an evolving business environment filled with both marketing opportunities and operational challenges. TACO membership gives industry professionals a collective voice while providing valuable opportunities to learn, connect to consumers and stay informed of government overreach,” stated the release.

Chris Bornemann, senior director of government affairs for the RV Industry Association (RVIA), gave an update on the RV industry during TACO’s 2026 Spring Meeting.

“Being part of TACO means being part of a community that understands the unique opportunities and challenges of operating a campground in Texas,” said Brian Schaeffer, CEO/executive director. “Our goal is to help campground owners and operators build stronger businesses while working together to promote and protect the Texas camping experience.”

Joining TACO offers campground and RV park professionals opportunities to:

  • Promote their location and amenities to campers both locally and from far away through the No. 1 consumer website www.TexasCampgrounds.com and those without an RV at www.TexasGlampingResorts.com. All parks are featured as premier destinations through the RV Travel & Camping Guide, which is distributed to hundreds of thousands of RVers coming to and moving around Texas.
  • Connect with fellow industry professionals through networking and relationship-building opportunities at the Spring Meeting and Trade Show, April 27-28, 2027. Plus, numerous topical webinars throughout each year.
  • Stay informed about legal issues that can make or break RV parks and campgrounds. The TACO Legal team works year-round, and every member has access to an industry-specific attorney.
  • Do not fall victim to state or national legislation before it is too late to make a difference. TACO’s industry voice and legislative team monitors, supports and/or kills laws before they kill our members’ businesses.
  • Access legally vetted operational standards through the printed and online version of the TACO Legal Handbook. Available at www.TACOmembers.com, the password-protected gold standard in avoiding legal pitfalls.
  • Countless program savings on critical items like propane sales, camp store accessories, music licenses, office supplies and so much more.

Membership is open to Texas campground and RV park owners and operators, as well as businesses and organizations that support the Texas outdoor hospitality industry. Membership deadlines are fast approaching. Go to www.TACOmembers.com to sign up today.

With various camping and tourism events visiting Fort Worth this fall, TACO invites current or prospective members to drop by its Fort Worth offices by making an appointment on the contact page of www.TACOMembers.com.

“TACO is stronger when campground owners and industry partners join efforts,” said Schaeffer. “Every new member adds another voice, another perspective and another opportunity to make the Texas campground industry even stronger.”
