KOA Camp Grounds Mylan Park cabins

Cabins at the KOA Campground at Mylan Park are available for rent this weekend.

It’s time to throw open the gates of the KOA Holiday Campground at Mylan Park … and there’s also a football game, according to The Dominion Post.

“We’ve been running around here pretty crazy, but we’re excited,” Morgantown/Mylan Park KOA Holiday General Manager Frank Witt said. “We opened a small part of our campground back in May, but this weekend we’re opening up the rest of it and giving more access to those coming camping and RVing for the Labor Day weekend and to enjoy, of course, a great Mountaineer game.”

This weekend, the 37-acre campground (Morgantown, W. Va.) will expand its offerings from 41 RV sites to 137 RV sites, 22 cabins featuring three different sizes and layouts, and 10 tent camp pads. The campground also includes a playground and a “Kangaroo jumper” for kids and two dog parks.

“We also have a great walking trail that connects our area with Fitness Way (leading to ballfields, Pro Performance, an inclusive playground, track and aquatic center). We also have some fishing ponds out that way – catch and release,” Witt said, explaining access to much of the 400-acre park is included for KOA guests.

Later this fall, the campground’s central lodge will open. The lodge will serve as a meeting area and activity center, complete with a camp store, laundry and shower facilities, communal fire pits and a propane filling station.
